Closing Ceremony Activity
Sunset Ecstatic Kirtan
Kirtan Date: 3 MAY
Place: Blanco Museum for the Closing Ceremony
Kirtan is the fundamental practice of Bhakti Yoga. We come together in community and open up voices to celebrate all the aspects of creation. Through Singing the sacred names, we ignite our hearts and awaken specific qualities from within as Joy, Bliss, unconditional Love, Peace and Expansion.
In this special evening activity, we will together chant a mantra. The wallah (leader) sings the mantra, and the participants sing it back. Chanting kirtan is considered one of the powerful practice that helps to uplift the mind, open the heart and bring inner peace. It is the fastest, easiest and most joyful way to achieve peace of mind. The mantras are mystical universal sounds that resonate with our chakras and remove negative energies, which helps our body to find peace and to heal.
Kirtan is singing of God’s name with feeling. Such singing has a benign effect on both the physical and subtle bodies. It is an excellent method of soothing the nerves and directing the emotions to a positive goal”.
